Job Summary

 

This critical leadership role serves as a trusted growth, client success and operational leader, ensuring effective alignment across market functions, while advancing high-impact initiatives that enhance payer relationships and improve healthcare delivery outcomes.

This role is ideal for a seasoned healthcare executive with deep experience working across payer and provider organizations, particularly within value-based care and Medicaid/Medicare Advantage landscapes. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be execution-focused, and bring a track record of operational excellence and strategic partnership.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Growth, Client Relationship and Market Expansion

  • Act as executive sponsor for key payer relationships by developing a wholistic communication, engagement and product/operations strategy to meet payer needs. 
  • Build and maintain executive-level partner and stakeholder relationships including payers, community organizations, FQHCs and key providers. 
  • Lead strategic planning and monthly business reviews. 
  • Understand and influence business levers of clients to improve performance. 
  • Represent the Company in payer meetings 
  • Develop new programs or service lines, expand geographies, or serve additional member populations that align with the mission, vision, and values of AbsoluteCare and present recommendations to senior leadership.  

Strategic & Operational Support

  • Partner closely with the Chief Growth Officer and President Medical Centers to define and execute market strategy, ensuring alignment with health plan goals and contract performance metrics/KPI’s.
  • Drive strategic initiatives, market development efforts, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless execution of growth and operational priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership to help prioritize efforts, remove obstacles, and ensure accountability across the market leadership team.
  • Align client model with AbsoluteCare’s operating model, including the impact of company-wide business initiatives into the local market(s).
  • Facilitate corrective action plans to improve operating performance and meet SLAs 

Health Plan Partnership Management

  • Act as a key interface between internal teams and health plan leadership, ensuring effective communication, reporting, and execution of joint strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee performance plans, partnership governance activities (e.g., Joint Operating Committees), and issue resolution in collaboration with clinical, operational, and network teams.
  • Analyze contract performance and recommend corrective actions or growth opportunities based on health plan priorities.

Organizational Coordination & Communications

  • Lead high-priority projects & working groups, including project management, implementation, improvement plans, project status, identified deficiencies ensuring clear objectives, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Support internal communications, leadership alignment, and accountability routines (e.g., leadership meetings, dashboards, market scorecards).
  • Represent growth and operations for the local market in key internal and external meetings, as appropriate.

Preferred Attributes

  • Geographically located within Northeast Region.
  • Executive presence and political savvy; capable of influencing at all levels of an organization.
  • Action-oriented and data-driven, with a strong bias for results.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of managing multiple complex priorities simultaneously.
  • Deep knowledge of the Boston/Massachusetts healthcare landscape a plus.
  • Willingness to travel

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field strongly preferred.
  • 5 -10+ years of account management, client success and or value-based care operations (preferred: healthcare leadership) within payer or provider organizations.
  • Strong understanding of health plan operations, value-based care models, and population health management.
  • Proven experience navigating complex health plan-provider partnerships, with a deep understanding of managed care, Medicaid, and Medicare.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives and teams in matrixed environments.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.

 

Working conditions

 

This job operates in a remote location from your home location and within a professional office environment.  This role requires a dedicated, quiet workspace with the ability to adhere to HIPAA and other privacy policies.  A reliable and high-speed Wi-Fi connection or home internet is required to perform the essential functions of this role.  This role requires reliable transportation to commute back and forth; and routinely uses general office equipment.

  • Constantly operates the computer, keyboard, copy and fax machine, phone, and other general office equipment.
