Job Summary
This role will inform decision making and develop actionable insights to deliver optimal patient care and outcomes to support AbsoluteCare’s clinical, financial, and operational goals. The Data Analyst will work in close collaboration with Clinical, Pharmacy, and executive leadership to design, develop reports and conduct analyses using health care utilization, operational, clinical, and financial data from various health care information sources to measure and drive member and care model outcomes.
This role will review, interpret, and analyze clinical and operational data from the Electronic Health Record (eClinicalWorks), pharmacy point of sale system, population health management systems, and health plan payer data and deliver reports that respond to critical business needs. This role covers Levels III/IV.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze and regularly report upon clinical and operational care model data from EHR (eClinicalWorks), pharmacy point of sale system (RX30), population health management systems, medical and pharmacy claims provided by health plan payers, and other internal and third-party data streams, as necessary.
- Work collaboratively with our Integrated Clinical and Pharmacy Teams to define, create, document, and implement ad-hoc reports/analytics that support the AbsoluteCare clinical care model and strategy.
- Ability to design with key performance metrics, actionability, clinicians, and patients in mind; utilize data to not only identify potential impact, but also test and monitor performance of clinical metrics and outcomes.
- Automate manual reporting and develop novel reporting using the Microsoft BI stack and other reporting tools.
- Communicate analyses, results, and reports in a simple and clear fashion to all levels and functional areas of the organization.
- Conduct analyses using tools such as SQL, Excel, Power BI.
- Conduct extensive data mining and analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and best practices.
- Organize, clarify, and translate business processes into reporting requirements from a diverse set of end users (e.g., executives, clinicians),
- Interpret medical data fields to understand the population’s compliance with standard quality measures (e.g., HEDIS, NCQA).
- Promote a culture of high-quality reporting and analytics by acting as a peer reviewer for team members.
- Relate disparate data sets to extract actionable insights.
- Support business needs through the development of ad-hoc and standardized reports as requested by the executive leadership team, as well as internal and external customers.
- Troubleshoot and align the reporting needs of end users to available data sets.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, information technology, computer science/data science/data analytics, statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, health science, or related field or equivalent work experience required.3-5+ years of health care data, analysis, and reporting experience required, Clinical background with EHR experience (eClinicalWorks), Pharmacy point of sale systems, and/or population health management systems and/or health plan payer/experience strongly preferred. Health plan experience with Managed Medicaid and Medicare Advantage plans a plus.
- 2+ years of experience with the Microsoft BI stack, including SSMS, SSRS, SSIS, and Power BI or other visualization tools strongly preferred.
- 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Power BI, Power Query, or other Business Intelligence Tools strongly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Advanced proficiency with relational databases (SQL server), querying, data warehouses, and decision support tools required.
- Experience with R, Python, machine learning, and artificial intelligence libraries in building predictive analytics models is a plus.
- Experience with building data models, data mining and using data to drive business outcomes and decisions required.
- Experience with 340b, Medicaid, and Medicare Part B/D pharmacy programs is a plus.
- Ability to work independently with limited direction and/or guidance.
- Capable of successfully balancing numerous and competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience collaborating with executives strongly preferred.
- Highly organized with strong documentation skills.
- Passion for data and the act of transforming data to achieve results.
