Job Summary
This role is responsible for overall performance of pharmacy services within the AbsoluteCare clinic. This includes both oversite of clinical pharmacy care programs and the daily operations within the pharmacy including, but not limited to filling prescriptions, security and accuracy of operations, oversight of technicians and the delivery of medications to the patient. This role is part of the local clinic leadership team and has overall responsibility for ensuring all members are provided comprehensive pharmacy care and support to maintain adherence to their medication therapies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide and ensure excellent customer service to all members using pharmacy services .
- Develop, implement and monitor daily procedures and workflows within the pharmacy including multi dose compliance packaging.
- Manage pharmacy team to include hiring, onboarding, training and development..
- Manage pharmacy team schedules.
- Evaluate pharmacy team performance, providing appropriate feedback and/or disciplinary measures as necessary.
- Ensure the pharmacy team provides timely counseling and support to all members.
- Ensure quality assurance, accuracy, and safety of the medications dispensed and accuracy of the claim submissions.
- Build relationships with other members of the care team outside of the pharmacy: Providers, nurses, case management, transition care managers, etc
- Develop and oversee clinical pharmacy programs for targeted patient populations and disease states.
- Complete charting, documentation and other member reporting as required
- Ensure proper inventory management, maintenance, storage and transportation of medications.
- Proactive and ongoing communication with clinical teams and/or referrals to the appropriate resources.
- Coordinate and supervise deliveries and mailing of prescriptions.
- Ensure that returns are made within the appropriate time frame.
- Ensure procedures and workflow are functioning properly for efficient dispensing of all medications.
- Complete daily orders and inventory processes to ensure accuracy and compliance of all 340B inventory
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm D required.
- Registered Pharmacist without restriction in state of practice required.
- 3 years’ experience as a pharmacist/pharmacy manager within a clinic, community health or pharmacy organization focused on serving individuals with complex healthcare needs; behavioral health, HIV or other specialized pharmacy care strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with interdisciplinary teams focused on patient centered care.
- Clinical pharmacy programs, MTM or other adherence focused experience
- Management experience preferred, ideally within settings focused on establishing relationships with clinical team members to improve overall care experience for members
- Experience within a 340B pharmacy program preferred
- Knowledge and experience providing pharmacy care to individuals eligible for Medicaid, state assistance programs, Medicare and other government insurance programs.

Working conditions
This job operates in a professional pharmacy environment within a medical facility. This role routinely uses general office equipment.
Physical requirements
- Ability to communicate clearly and exchange accurate information constantly.
- Ability to remain stationary for long periods of time.
- Constantly operates computer, keyboard, copy and fax machine, phone, and other general office equipment.
- Ability to occasionally move objects up to 20 lbs.
