Job Summary

This role is responsible for the daily operations within the pharmacy including, but not limited to filling prescriptions, security and accuracy of operations, oversight of technicians and the delivery of medications to the patient.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide and ensure excellent customer service to all pharmacy customers.
  • Develop, implement and monitor daily procedures and workflows within the pharmacy.
  • Manage pharmacy staff to include hiring and training of pharmacy staff. 
  • Manage pharmacy staff schedules.
  • Evaluate pharmacy staff performance, providing appropriate feedback and/or disciplinary measures as necessary.
  • Ensure the pharmacy is providing the appropriate counseling to all patients.
  • Ensure quality assurance, accuracy, and safety of the medications dispensed and accuracy of the claim submissions.
  • Develop and oversee clinical pharmacy programs.
  • Maintenance of up-to-date patient records.
  • Proper maintenance, storage and transportation of medications.
  • Patient adherence and communication with clinical teams and/or referrals to the appropriate resources.
  • Coordinate and supervise deliveries and mailing of prescriptions.
  • Ensure that returns are made within the appropriate time frame.
  • Ensure procedures and systems are functioning properly.
  • Daily orders and inventory process.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm D required.
  • Registered Pharmacist without restriction in state of practice required.
  • 3 years’ experience as a pharmacist with retail experience.
  • Clinical/Disease State Management experience is preferred.
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Personal and professional passion to help improve healthcare delivery.
  • Demonstrated respect for and experience with culturally diverse communities.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse population.
  • Team and customer service oriented.

Working conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses general office equipment. -OR- This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses general office equipment.  Often wear a special uniform, such as a lab coat or surgical scrubs, protective or safety attire, such as gloves and masks. Exposed to the diseases and infections of patients daily. May share workspace with other technicians and staff.

Physical requirements

  • Ability to communicate clearly and exchange accurate information constantly.
  • Ability to remain stationary for long periods of time.
  • Constantly operates computer, keyboard, copy and fax machine, phone, and other general office equipment.
  • Job may be physically demanding at times.
  • Repetitious Movements.
  • Ability to occasionally move objects up to 20 lbs.
